Polypropylene

At Spetztekhosnastka, we use polypropylene and polyethylene for the manufacturing of Vital Plast products. The range of manufactured products also includes containers made of PS polystyrene and SAN styrene acrylonitrile. All brands of raw materials, which we use, comply with safety requirements in the food industry.

We use only primary polymers from the world's largest polyolefin producers, particularly Sabic, MOL Petrochemical, Slovnaft, Unipetrol, Lyondellbasell, and Borealis A.G., Braskem.

Depending on the required characteristics of the finished product, for example, the degree of transparency, strength, compliance with specific temperatures, we use three modifications of polypropylene: polypropylene block copolymer (PP COPO), polypropylene random copolymer (PP RACO), and polypropylene homopolymer (PP HOMO). In some cases, we utilize high-density polyethylene (PE HDPE), styrene-acrylonitrile (SAN), and polystyrene (PS).

Polypropylene block copolymer is cloudy and milky material with a wide range of applications since it has high strength characteristics. It is softer and more durable compared to a homopolymer. The material has increased resistance to cracking and greater strength at low temperatures compared to a homopolymer.

Polypropylene homopolymer is more transparent than copolymer, but not as much as random. The most common application is in food packaging. More brittle and stiff than copolymer, especially at temperatures below zero.

Polypropylene random copolymer is highly flexible and transparent, allowing transparent products and components with a good appearance.

Polyethylene is unbreakable, more elastic and softer than polypropylene, cold-resistant.

Styrene acrylonitrile is a super transparent, rigid, durable material with a bluish tint.

Polystyrene is more fragile than styrene-acrylonitrile, but products made from it will be super transparent.

All types of PP we use can be colored with special dyes.

In cases of specific requirements to the physical and mechanical properties of packaging, such as tolerance to low temperatures, we select the appropriate type of raw materials or additives that ensure the material's quality.
